Easy Healthy Brownies in the Instant pot?!

This is an update to my TRULY HEALTHY BROWNIES EXIST Article! It’s the summer, it’s hot, and no one wants to turn on the oven, so I figured why not try to convert my delicious healthy brownie recipe to an instant pot recipe! The normal healthy brownie recipe is only 4 ingredients, but I figured why not step it up a notch?! The texture of these when hot are ooey, gooey, and delicious, but keep in mind they have a bit of a different consistency than normal brownies because they were made in the instant pot. You can easily put this in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and they turn out just like boxed brownies! For this recipe you will need:

  • any instant pot with the trivet inside
  • baking dish(es) to fit inside (I used 3 ramekins)
  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or other sweetener
  • 3 heaped tsp of your favorite nut butter (I use a mix of almond and peanut butter)
  • chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


  1. mash the banana and nut butters together with a fork. Add olive oil.
  2. transfer mixture to a blender and blend until smooth – this step really makes a difference
  3. put mixture back into bowl and add cocoa powder, vanilla, baking powder, and salt
  4. mix in a handful of chocolate chips and transfer to greased baking dishes
  5. add 1/2 cup water to bottom of instant pot and put ramekins inside on the trivet
  6. seal the instant pot and set to high pressure for 8 minutes, allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes. Depending on the baking dish size, the cooking time may vary, but be careful not to overcook these or they will become more dry
  7. ENJOY!

    So easy and so tasty! I added a little bit of cinnamon. Got them into 6 small silicone pots and pressure cooked for 5 minutes.
